As humans, we all have desires and goals, be it short term or longer.
Of course we take actions towards, or away from our desires, goals or values, voluntarily or subconscioutly (driven by our feelings and emotions).
However, do these desires and goals define who you really are? What kind of person you want to be?, and what kind of life you want to live?
Perhaps, your answer would be, not really.
So what really defines us and can bring us clarity and stay focused?
The question is, what do you stand for in life? In other words, what are your core values-what really matters to you, deep down. The values for which you are willing to do almost whatever it takes.
Some of our core values may be respect, self-care, honestry, love, courage…
If our desires, goals, actions take us away from our true values, we may often find discontentment in life, or it may add emotional stressors to us and make us doubt ourselves.
It is always helpful to ask ourselves in front of a choice, are my desires, my feelings, my goals… in line with my values?
So, what do you stand for in life?
