We charge $165.00 per hour to see one of our counsellors. You may be eligible for a Medicare Rebate of $77.10 if you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan done by a General Practitioner. Please speak with us if you have a valid concession, pension or student card.
We require 24 hours’ notice prior to your appointment time if you are needing to cancel or reschedule your session, otherwise you will be charged 50% of our full fee.
Although we do not regularly bulk bill appointments, there can be exceptions of this. We understand that sometimes there are time when you may be struggling with your finances but feel you need support from a professional. We feel strongly that everyone should have access to mental health care. Please contact us and discuss the possibility of having a decreased fee, payment plan, or being bulk billed, with our friendly reception team.
Professional counselling is a safe and confidential service between qualified counsellors and clients. The aim of counselling is to promote mental health and wellbeing, enhance self-understanding, and resolve identified concerns. Counsellors work with children, young people, adults, couples, families and groups. Counselling may be short term, long term, or over a lifetime, according to clients’ needs. Effective counselling makes clients feel safe, understood, respected, and accepted without judgement. Clients may explore aspects of identity, spirituality, relationships with self and others, past experiences, parenting, grief and loss, trauma, domestic violence, child abuse, use of alcohol and other substances, depression, anxiety, and other experiences.
A friend, no matter how close your relationship with them, has their own opinions and views of the world. If you are having a negative experience, that friend may make the situation worse by expressing their experiences on to you. However, you are a unique individual and others experiences wont always benefit you. This is where having a counsellor is ideal. A counsellor is always on your side and is there to assist in any goals you may want to achieve.
Absolutely! There are a wide variety of counselling sessions available. Most common at telephone and face to face sessions, there is also skype sessions and if you prefer to just text during a session period that is definitely arrangeable. Please feel free to send any enquires you may have.
Only as often as you would like. Counsellors are available Monday to Friday every week. Every three weeks is standard for follow ups, but if you wish to see a counsellor before the follow up time that easily arrangeable. You can discuss your preferred follow up time with your counsellor or the administrative team.
